  Brief Introduction

  Guangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Guangzhou Hygienic Examination Center) ， formerly named as Guangzhou Anti-epidemic Station ， is a guidance center for disease control and prevention and hygienic surveillance and test in Guangzhou area. Guangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention takes on prevention and control of infectious disease and chronic non-infectious disease, hygienic surveillance and laboratory testing, hygienic evaluation, functional tests and evaluation of related products. Guangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention is also a training base for students from tertiary medical schools and universities.

  Guangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention has a high quality professional team with strong capability in operation, scientific research and training. The team members are experienced and skilled in handling emergent incidents such as infectious disease outbreaks and food poisoning. Guangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention is equipped with more than one hundred sophisticated equipments including ion chromatography, gas chromatography, liquid chromatography, gas chromatography / mass spectrometer (GC/MS), HPLC / mass spectrometer (HPLC/MS), flow cytometer, b-DNA viral load detector, -150℃ refrigerator, automated microbiological system and low radioactive background detector, each valued over 10,000 RMB.

  The primary missions of Guangzhou Center for Disease Control and Prevention are:

  ·to implement disease control and prevention programs
  ·to carry out investigation, research, surveillance ， and forecast on disease and related biologic   media
  ·to organize investigation on infectious disease outbreak and formulate controlling and prevention measures
  ·to collect, analyze, notify ， and provide feedback information on disease control and prevention
  ·to implement EPI programs
  ·to conduct scientific res earch, provide consulting service on relevant technology, provide guidance on health promotion and disease control and prevention
  ·to monitor design of hygienic project, evaluate hygienic project and health related products
  ·to accomplish tasks (sampling, laboratory testing and hygienic evaluation) assigned by health administration departments and health inspection departments
  ·to provide physical examination and health education for the employees
  ·to conduct epidemiological investigation and sampling in emergent incidents and illegal cases
  ·to accomplish relevant tasks entrusted by Guangzhou Municipal Health Bureau and other organizations.
